One of our experienced specialists will fit our patient with a custom titanium post, right into the jawbone where a tooth is missing. We do, however, see cases where bone loss has occurred and we immediately assess whether a patient would require either bone augmentation or ridge preservation before a successful dental implant can occur. In these cases, the goal is to provide a strong base so that the post will have something with which to secure.
Following the insertion of the post, and once a strong bond is confirmed, the tooth is then placed on the post for a natural look and fit.
